Two members of the WQCS news team have received state AP Radio Awards for local news stories. News Director Jill Roberts earned a First Place Award in the Best Continuing Coverage category for her series about the St. Lucie County Health Department, "Health Department 60th Birthday". Feature reporter Janie Gould won a Second Place Award for her story about a former German prisoner in Florida who later became a TreasureCoast resident, "A German POW in Florida". This is part of the “Floridays” history series heard each Friday morning at 7:20 on WQCS, 88.9 FM.
