Fort Pierce - Friday November 18, 2022: When a power boat named 'Cross Star' bumped into the dock at South Causeway Beach late Thursday afternoon a witness said they saw a group of Creole-speaking migrants jump off and flee.

The witness called 911 and Fort Pierce Police Officers along with Saint Lucie County Sheriff Deputies responded, along with Saint Lucie County Fire Rescue as a precaution in case any of the migrants needed of medical assistance.

The boat was carrying adult males, females, and children. As of 7 p.m. Thursday evening about 25 had been located, placed in a bus, and turned over to the Department of Homeland Security. Officials say there were no reported injuries amongst the group of migrants.
