Spring Plant Sale!
The warm, sunny weather that the Treasure Coast has been enjoying has us ready to dig back into our gardens. Just in time, Garden Club of Fort Pierce brings back its “Plants in the Park” Spring Plant Sale. Plan on joining us for this once-a-year just-the-plants sale!
Find us at the historic garden center club building at the corner of S 10th and Georgia Ave. Wander beautiful shady grounds of Glidden Park and find your choice of perennials, annuals, exotics, and houseplants for sale.
The plants sold at our sale are from the gardens of our members, their families and friends. We’ll be there to help answer your questions and to find the right plant for your garden site (sun, shade, color, height, size, soil conditions, or ease of growing). Monies raised support garden related community projects, such as local veggie gardens and youth projects.
Come find your newest treasure at our April 27th Spring Plant Sale. Hint, hint: Mother’s Day will be just around the corner. We look forward to seeing you this April 27th!
An exclusive invitation to commemorate the families who have lost loved ones to crimes, celebrating and honoring their lives. The event is actually being held at Veterans Memorial Sanctuary Island here in Vero Beach. However, your website does not allow me to enter that. It defaults to three choices, none of which apply. So hopefully. this comes across correctly just. trying to get the word out, especially to the victim's families.

Help us celebrate our local foster families, from 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, April 27, at Port St. Lucie’s Hillmore Lake Park, during CCKids’ Third Annual 1K for Kids & Story Stroll. Free event shirts will be given to the first 100 people to register.
Enjoy a leisurely 1K walk along a tree-lined trail dotted with the stories and videos of children and families of the local foster-care community.
In addition to marking the start of National Foster Care Month, the 1K will launch CCKids' 25 by 2025 campaign to add 25 foster homes by January. Anyone interested in learning more about becoming a foster parent will have the opportunity to connect with a recruitment specialist.
The event also will feature celebration stations where families can learn how to 'be the connection' by supporting foster care efforts without actually becoming a licensed foster home, said Christina Kaiser, CCKids community relations director.
"Like the starfish washed onto the beach whose life is saved by one small act of kindness, it only takes one connection to change a child's life," Kaiser said. "You can be a foster parent, but if that's not possible, you can be the connection."
The 1K Story Stroll is a little more than half a mile, but the total trail is 1.27 miles for those who want to keep going. Hillmore Park also offers a passive fitness station and two observation/fishing decks extending out over the lake.
