Fort Pierce Friday January 20, 2023: This week on In Focus with IRSC Public Media, we talk with Rob Ranieri, the CEO of House of Hope, a non-profit whose mission he says is to empower those in need with the means to overcome hunger and hardship.

From its humble beginnings in 1984, House of Hope has grown into a major food bank supplying 35 partners including churches, food banks, and its own food pantries with supplies that feed and provide other social services to more than 12,000 Treasure Coast residents.

And they've recently launched a hydroponic farm in Palm City to produce their own fresh produce, which they provide at no charge to the people they serve.

Then we'll hear about The Children’s Museum Purse Party. Its a major annual fund-raising event for the Museum and Board Member Andy McAvoy and the Museum’s Events Coordinator Dayna Miller join us to talk about it.

The Children's Museum in Jensen Beach provides all kinds of fun for kids. It's a safe place for children to learn and grow, but it's a lot more than that. The Museum has a mobile outreach program serving at risk and under served students, and it provides camp scholarships to families in need, among other things.

The Purse Party happens March 27 at the Harbor Ridge in Stuart, it's a great way to support the services the Museum provides to children.
