One Dead Following Early Morning Home Fire in Port St. Lucie
Port St. Lucie - Tuesday April 26, 2022: An early morning fire in Port St. Lucie Tuesday claimed the life of one person.
The St. Lucie County Fire District and the Port St. Lucie police Department responded at 4:25 am to a reported home fire in the 2300 block of SE Beechwood Terrace. A neighbor called 911 after seeing flames coming from the home.
When first responders arrived they found the house engulfed in flames. Officers attempted to enter the home but the flames were too intense. The St. Lucie County Fire Department extinguished the blaze. One person was found dead in a bedroom after the fire was out.
The St. Lucie County Fire District is investigating the cause and a death investigation has been launched, however a post on the St. Lucie Police Department Facebook page states that "there appears to be no unusual circumstances at this time."
