Shannon Martin wins PSL Mayor's Race; Bonna leads for Open Council Seat

With almost all votes counted, Port St. Lucie Vice Mayor Shannon Martin has defeated Edgar "E.J." Bernier to become the next Mayor of the City. Martin currently leads 12,847 (65%) to Bernier's 6,783 (35%). Martin will now officially take over as Mayor after the departure of Gregory Ovarec, who took a job in the Florida Keys.

Six candidates were on the ballot to fill Martin's District #3 seat on the City Council, and former County Commissioner Anthony Bonna currently leads the field with 45%. He'll proceed to a runoff with 2nd place finisher Travis Walker on December 7th, Walker received 22% of the six-way split.
