Fort Pierce - Sunday February 19, 2023: The City of Fort Pierce recognizes the need for community education and outreach on eviction prevention, including landlord-tenant rights and comprehensive legal services.
As a result, the City's Grants Administration Division has partnered with Florida Rural Legal Services (FRLS) to hold three more housing workshops in its continuing housing Workshop Series. FRLS will provide free legal assistance, homelessness prevention and consumer protection information to low-income individuals and vulnerable populations in Fort Pierce.
“We are certain that this partnership will provide an avenue for residents to avoid homelessness and receive critical education and information on the comprehensive services” said Executive Director of Florida Rural Legal Services Jaffe Picket.
The workshops are free and open to the public. No registration is required. The first Housing Workshop will be held on February 16th at the Riverwalk Center at 5:30 PM.
The housing workshops will be tailored to a specific topic and they will feature helpful information, training, and opportunities to speak to specialists in the field.
The dates for the 2023 Housing Workshops are as follows:
- Thursday, February 16 @5:30pm – Landlord Responsibilities and Legal Remedies for Tenants
