Growing Blueberries in Florida

Growing Blueberries in Florida

Do you want to learn about blueberries in Florida?? This is the event for you.

There are two types of blueberries that grow well in Florida, Rabbiteye and Southern Highbush. However, only the low-chill cultivars of each are adapted to Florida. Generally, Rabbiteye Blueberries grow well in areas of Florida that have winters as cold or colder than winters in Ocala. The Southern Highbush cultivars that are commonly grown in Florida are well adapted to areas south of Ocala and north of Sebring. However, they will grow reasonably well in Alachua County.

During this workshop, participants will learn about blueberry cultivars for Florida, site selection, irrigation, nutrient management, and finally pest and disease management.
