Fort Pierce - Friday May 13, 2022: This week on in Focus with IRSC Public Media we talk with Greg Braun, the executive director of the Guardians of Martin County, a group dedicated to preserving the rural character of the county.

They’ve been making some waves lately with their proposal to put a half cent sales tax increase on the November ballot to buy land for conservation. The County Commissioners decided now is not the right time for that. The Guardians have also raised questions about a development proposed by Becker Homes and Discovery Land, a proposal which the Commission has tabled for now. Greg will tells us about those issues as well as sharing his thoughts about the unique character of Martin County.

Then we’ll speak with Vero Beach urologist Dr. Hugo Davila about incontinence, other-wise known as ‘over-active bladder.’ He’ll tell us about the 3 stages of treatment, including a newly approved procedure that involves the surgical insertion of a rechargeable pacemaker on the bladder to help control the problem.
