Three people are dead following a murder suicide in Port St. Lucie Sunday evening, according to police.

PSL police Public Information Officer Sgt. John Dellacroce reports that a 52-year-old man shot and killed a 33-year-old man, a 53-year-old woman, and two dogs inside a home in the 1900-Blk of SW Cameo Blvd. in Port St. Lucie. “The male then shot and killed himself,” said Dellacroce in a news release. Detectives found a suicide note and they believe “depression could be a motivating factor” in the shooting.

The relationship between the 3 victims, their names, and the owner of the home where the shooting occurred have not yet been released.

The bodies were discovered by a roommate who called 911 around 6:30 pm Sunday after returning to the home. PSL police detectives obtained a search warrant for the residence and worked with the crime scene unit throughout the night to process the scene and collect evidence.

Sgt. Dellacroce emphasized that police are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident, He said there is “no threat to the community” at large calling the shooting “an isolated incident and not a random act of violence.”

As a reminder to the community Sgt. Dellacroce advises residents who may be in need of mental health resources, to please call 211 or the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255. ###
