After 4 years on the Martin County School Board Victoria Defenthaler has decided not to run again.
“After much thought and discussion with my family, I have decided not to seek re-election to the Martin County School Board,” said in a news release Thursday. “It has truly been an honor and privilege to serve,” she said.
Defenthaler has represented Martin County District 3. She hopes the timely of her announcement will give anyone wanting to run for her seat plenty of time to mount a campaign of their own.
“If that person's focus will be on what is in the best interest of children, families and MCSD employees,” she said, “they will have my full support.
Defenthaler thanked the Board, the community and her family for their support. “I will continue to advocate for our children, school district, and community,” she concluded.
