Two men died Saturday in separate incidents that remain under investigation by the Fort Pierce Police Department.
The first incident was reported shortly after 1 p.m. Saturday afternoon. An unconscious man was reported to be lying in the roadway of the 500 block of South 32nd Street. When police arrived they found that the man had suffered a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the man has not been released.
A separate investigation is underway into the death of a man found inside a burning vehicle Saturday evening.
The St. Lucie County Fire Rescue initially responded to a reported brush fire on South 37th Street in Fort Pierce. When they got there they found a vehicle engulfed in flames. Upon dousing the fire the body of a man was found inside the vehicle. He “appeared to have succumbed to injuries from the fire,” according to the news release from police.
