Martin County Sheriff Detectives Searching for Armed Suspect Following Fatal Shooting

Norwood is wanted in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred near Jake’s Store on Martin Luther King Boulevard in Indiantown on Tuesday, March 15th

Martin County-March 21, 2022: The Martin County Sheriff's Office is seeking information on the whereabouts of 35-year old Robert Norwood Jr. He is a resident of Indiantown and stands 5’10” tall and weighs about 210 pounds.

Norwood is wanted in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred near Jake’s Store on Martin Luther King Boulevard in Indiantown on Tuesday, March 15th.

According to a post on the Martin County Sheriff’s Facebook page, witnesses told police that they saw Norwood and the victim “arguing in front of the store.” The witnesses allege that Norwood then “pulled a gun and fired a number of shots that hit the victim”. Norwood then fled on foot. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the victim has not been released.

Norwood is considered armed and anyone who sees him is cautioned not to approach or confront him. The Sheriff’s office asks anyone with information about the shooting or anyone who knows of someone who may be helping Norwood evade detectives, you are asked to call Detective Ben Lisle at 772-631-4480.
