Port St. Lucie - Wednesday, April 20, 2022: The Port St. Lucie Police Department has arrested 50-year-old Robert Downs on 45 counts of transmission of child pornography and 29 counts of possession of child pornography. He is being held in jail on a $555,000 bond.
Detectives launched their investigation after the PSL Police Department's Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force received information from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) about a person uploading child pornography to an online server.
On Wednesday morning PSL police detectives accompanied by the SWAT Team executed a search warrant in the 2200-BLK of SE Glover St and Downs in Port St. Lucie. "Electronic items" were seized and analyzed and Downs was taken into custody on allegations of uploading and sharing numerous child pornography pictures and videos to Snapchat. The investigation is still ongoing.
