Vero Beach - 04-20-22: A home fire Wednesday on 87th Street in the Vero Lake Estates neighborhood of Vero Beach displaced a family of 7, including 3 children.
The Palm Beach and Treasure Coast chapters of the Red Cross Disaster Action Team stepped in to help coordinate emergency financial assistance and other support for the family.
The Disaster Action Team is a group of local Red Cross volunteers who are specially trained to respond to emergencies, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Disaster Action Team volunteers provide emotional support and disaster relief information to help families recovery. Their assistance is made possible by donations to the Red Cross.
