Treasure Coast - Tuesday April 26, 2022: The Indian River and Martin County Sheriff's Offices are among a number of Treasure Coast law enforcement agencies that have issued alerts about Pro Pool Builders.
Both Sheriff offices say the company has been the subject of numerous complaints from area residents who accuse Pro Pool Builders of taking down payments to build pools in their yards, but never finishing the jobs.
"We are looking for possible victims of fraud regarding the building of their pool by Pro Pool Builders," states the Fraud Alert posted on the Indian River County Sheriff's Office Facebook page. "There have been 20 complaints so far in other counties that are being looked into at this time," it states. "Anyone who thinks they have been a victim, contact Detective Rebecca Hurley at rhurley@ircsheriff.org or 772-978-6189 to make a report."
The Martin County Sheriff’s Office also reports receiving multiple complaints about Pro Pool Builders. "If you are a victim," states the post on the Martin County Facebook page, "we do encourage you to come to the Sheriff’s Office to fill out a report," provided that the pool construction took place in Martin County.
The company has a Stuart address. It's web address, https://propoolbuilders.net/, states "Our Website Is Under Construction—Come Back Soon." The company's phone number rings to an answering machine. A call for comment has not yet been returned.
