Martin County - Tuesday August 22, 2022: Two Deputies with the Martin County Sheriff's Marine Unit rescued an unconscious man after his boat caught fire and exploded Sunday evening.
It happened at the Manatee Pocket near Pirates Cove.
A video security camera on a nearby home captured the incident as MCSO Marine Deputy Buddy Sprott and Deputy Dan Hill jumped onto the burning boat to rescue the man on the vessel.
You can see the deputies pull the man from the flames seconds before the boat explodes. They managed to get him off of the boat before the vessel is consumed in flames.
The heat was so intense that part of the MCSO Marine vessel melted.
The victim was taken to an area hospital. HIs condition has not yet been released. The two Deputies were not injured.
