Danielle, the Fourth Tropical Storm of the Season, Forms in Mid-Atlantic - No Threat to Land

It is expected to become a hurricane by Friday.

Florida - Thursday September 1, 2022: Tropical Storm Danielle has formed in the Mid-Atlantic. It poses no threat to North America and there are no coastal watches or warnings in effect.

The National Hurricane center declared Danielle a Tropical Storm around 11 am Thursday with sustained winds of 40 mph. It is the fourth named tropical storm of the 2022 season.

As of 3 pm Thursday Danielle's wind speeds had increased to more than 60 mph and the storm was lumbering east at just 2 mph.

Danielle is forecast to reach hurricane strength by Friday.
