Indian River County - Sunday January 22, 2023: The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is hosting a public kick-off meeting for the Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study for a Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study for County Road (CR) 510 from 58th Avenue to east of State Road (SR) 5/US 1.
A PD&E Study is FDOT’s process to evaluate the social, economic, and environmental impacts associated with a planned transportation improvement project.
The purpose of this project is to develop viable alternatives to widen CR 510 from 58th Avenue to east of SR5/US 1 from two to four lanes as well as evaluate the addition of multimodal features such as sidewalks, bicycle lanes, and multi-use paths. Intersection improvements at 58th Avenue and at SR 5/US 1 will also be evaluated.
Two public meetings will be held, one virtual and the other in-person.
On Tuesday, January 31, an in-person meeting will be held. A virtual meeting was held last Thursday, January 26. The same information is being provided at both the virtual and in-person Kick-Off Meetings,

- In-Person: The Public Kick-Off Meeting will be held at North Indian River County Library located at 1001 Sebastian Boulevard, Sebastian, Florida 32958 on Tuesday, January 31, 2023. The latest social distancing guidelines will be followed. The Public Kick-Off Meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. as an open house format. This event is not sponsored by the Indian River County Library System.
Participants are asked to register in advance for the virtual Kick-Off Meeting by visiting the project website at www.fdot.gov/projects/cr510-58ave-us1.
All exhibits presented at the Kick-Off Meeting can be viewed electronically on the project website. Accommodations can be made to address any questions by contacting the FDOT Project Manager at the contact information noted at the end of this notice. Questions and comments may be submitted via the virtual chat feature for project personnel to address during the virtual Public Kick-Off Meeting.
