Fort Pierce - Thursday June 2, 2022: Fort Pierce Police are investigating the murder of a 31 year old man who was shot shortly after 7 p.m. Wednesday evening around the 500 Block of Florida Avenue in Fort Pierce.
According to a news release from acting police PIO Officer April Lee, FPPD officers responded at 7:12 p.m. "to investigate a report of shooting activity. One male victim, age 31, was struck." The man was taken to the Florida Lawnwood Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The identity of the dead man has not been released, no word on the motive either. Fort Pierce PD detectives are working to find out who shot him.

Second Murder in the Past Month
This is the second murder in the past month in the Sunrise City. On May 6th, 78 year old Jorge Fuentes was found shot to death in his home near the intersection of Sunrise Blvd and Wyoming Avenue, in Fort Pierce. Police have not released any details about that murder, and have yet to make any arrests in the case.
Second Shooting Wednesday Afternoon, 2 Wounded
On Wednesday afternoon Fort Pierce police responded to another shooting in the 600 Block of Dundas Court. When police arrived they found 2 wounded men with gunshot wounds, one of the wounded is 24 and the other man is 39. Both were taken to Florida Lawnwood Hospital for treatment and they were in "stable condition" as of Wednesday evening.
