Florida - Tuesday August 9, 2022: The National Hurricane Center in Miami continues to keep its eye on a tropical wave in the eastern Atlantic, a few hundred miles southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands.
As of 2 pm Tuesday August 9, the wave covered an area near from 27W to 20N southward through 12N and 27W. Shower and thunderstorm activity within the wave was disorganized and scattered moderate convection was occurring from 08N to 15N and between 25W and 32W.
While some gradual development of this system is possible over the next several days, environmental conditions are forecast to become less favorable by this weekend.
This system was expected to move westward to west-northwestward at 15 to 20 mph across the tropical Atlantic during the next several days.
