The start of the 15th Race for Recovery is running right up, and we want you there! This race is fast, flat and a 5K timed event that also includes a 1K walk route for walkers. Lace up for a meaningful cause - recovery from addiction and mental health wellness in our community. New Horizons of the Treasure Coast has been treating your neighbors and friends for close to 70 years here in our region. Times have changed, and challenges are faced, but the non-profit organization adapts and thrives thanks to the generosity of the communities it serves. Some 65% of the clients and patients that come through their doors are unable to afford or pay for their care. 100% of the race proceeds will help New Horizons' staff meet the needs of everyone, compassionately, who come to them for treatment and care.
On race day, participants will be treated to breakfast compliments of our friends at Sprout's in St. Lucie West, WaWa - Selvitz Road, and Natalie's Orchid Island Juice, Fort Pierce. Race begins promptly at 7:30 with Mike Melton from MCM timing firing the starting gun. Post-race, runners and walkers will get some great swag including a commemorative, 15-year anniversary medal compliments of perennial race sponsors Healthcite Pharmacy. Overall winners will be awarded gift cards to Fleet Feet that may be used at either of their stores in Port St. Lucie or Stuart. Age group winners receive a special medal honoring their achievement. These are awarded to winners from 5 - 95 (105?!)!
