Fort Pierce-Friday March 25, 2022: This week on 'In Focus' with IRSC Public Media, we're joined by Debbie Fritz-Quincy, the Executive Director of the Hobe Sound Nature Center. The Nature Center has re-opened now that Covid concerns have faded, and she'll tell us about a Special Fundraiser that the Nature Center has coming up on April 7. 'Tale of the Wild' will feature Jeff Corwin a global wildlife biologist. For more than two decades Jeff has educated global audiences with Emmy award winning shows. His latest program, Wildlife Nation, features episodes filmed here in Florida about the threats facing sea turtles and manatees.

Then we’ll talk with Stacy Benezra, the Community Impact Coordinator of the Indian River County United Way. She'll talk about the free tax preparation services they’re offering again this year and how low income wage earners, known by the federal government as 'ALICE' workers, should file a tax return every year, no matter how little they make. If they file they could qualify for child tax credits and get thousands of dollars in extra income.
