Port St. Lucie-Monday March 28,2022: Port St. Lucie Officer Brandon Rodgers went above and beyond the call of duty Sunday during his first solo road patrol shift.

Officer Rodgers recently graduated the field training program and he was only 5 hours into his road patrol on Sunday afternoon when he came across the driver of a disabled vehicle that had run out of gas on SW Tradition Pkwy.

With the help of other motorists, Officer Rodgers pushed the vehicle out of the busy intersection and toward the gas station. He then retrieved a gas container from a fellow Officer Nic Tomczyk’s vehicle and filled it up with fuel from the WaWa station. Officer Tomczyk provided the safety fuel funnel so Officer Rodgers could fill up the vehicle and the driver, who gave his name as Carlos, was able to get safely back on his way.

Kudos to both officers for helping a citizen in need!
