Fort Pierce - Monday April 25, 2022: The St. Lucie County Bomb Squad removed what they described as WW II 'detonator drop bomb' from a Fort Pierce Beach Monday. A 'detonator drop bomb' is a small explosive device used to trigger a larger one.

A beachgoer came across the device which had washed up on the beach just off 800 South Ocean Drive. Fort Pierce Police responded and they called in the bomb squad which safely removed the device and disposed of it without incident.
