Indian River County - Monday June 6, 2022: The Indian River County Sheriffs arrested two men who led them on a chase along U.S. #1 and Indian River Boulevard in the wee hours of Friday morning.

Willie Robinson and Jacobi King have been jailed without bond on multiple charges, according to a release posted on the IRC Sheriff's Facebook page.

Deputies attempted to stop the vehicle being driven by Robinson but he fled and the chase was on. "Stop sticks were deployed, but Robinson drove into the oncoming lane to avoid them" states the release. Eventfully a Sheriff's patrol car struck Robinson's vehicle using a "controlled PIT maneuver" in the 4900 block of U.S. #1 in Vero Beach. PIT stands for Precision Immobilization Technique. It's used by law enforcement to force a fleeing vehicle to abruptly turn 180 degrees, causing the vehicle to stall and stop.

Inside the getaway vehicle, between Robinson's driver seat and the passenger seat where King was sitting, Deputies recovered a 5.56 pistol with a 50-round magazine. They also found 38 grams of MDPV, also known as ecstasy or molly.

Robinson faces numerous charges including a felony warrant related to a failure to appear from a prior arrest earlier in the year. The new charges against him include fleeing and eluding, trafficking in a controlled substance, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and driving with a suspended license. His bond related on the previous charges was revoked and he is being held at the Indian River County Jail without bond.

Robinson's passenger, identified as Jacobi King, faces a charge of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
