Tallahassee - Wednesday June 8, 2022: Governor DeSantis Wednesday vetoed SB 2508.
In his veto message he wrote: "While the bill that was ultimately passed by the Legislature is an improvement over what was originally filed, SB 2508 still creates unnecessary and redundant regulatory hurdles that may compromise the timely execution and implementation of Everglades restoration projects, water control plans, and regulation schedules.
For this reason, I withhold my approval of SB 2508 and do hereby veto the same."
The Governor signed the following eight bills into law:
• SB 914 – Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles
• CS/CS/SB 962 – Residential Development Projects for Affordable Housing
• CS/CS/SB 1000 – Nutrient Application Rates
• SB 1038 – Florida Seaport Transportation and Economic Development Council
• CS/SB 1680 – Financial Institutions
• SB 2510 – Florida Gaming Control Commission
• CS/CS/CS/HB 399 – Motor Vehicle and Vessel Law Enforcement
• CS/HB 7029 – Time Limitations for Pre-adjudicatory Juvenile Detention
