Fort Pierce Police Arrest Suspect in Convenience Store Robberies

33-year-old Kyle Sheppard is charged with five counts of armed robbery and a probation violation.

Fort Pierce - Wednesday July 6, 2022: Fort Pierce Police Detectives have arrested a suspect in a series of of convenience store robberies throughout the city.

The suspect has been identified as 33-year-old Kyle Sheppard. He is accused of being responsible for multiple convenience store robberies throughout the Fort Pierce area, according to a news release from the Fort Pierce Police Department.

According to the release, a review of CCTV video from the stores that were robbed shows Sheppard demanding money from store clerks, and then fleeing once he got some cash. "Sheppard confessed" to five robberies that occurred between May and July 1, of this year, states the release.

Shepard, who was already on probation for previous crimes, was arrested following a traffic stop during which officers learned that he was in violation of the terms of his probation which imposed a curfew.

Shepard was confined at the St. Lucie County Jail and charged with five counts of armed robbery and a probation violation. He is currently being held without bond.
