Fort Pierce - Saturday July 9, 2022: One man was killed and another teenage boy was critically injured in separate shooting Saturday night in Fort Pierce.
Both shootings are being investigated by the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office.
The first shooting occurred around 7:15 pm Saturday, July 9, in the 2500 block of Avenue R. A man was shot and killed near that location.
A brief statement posted on the SLC Sheriff Facebook page says that "the suspect is in custody, and there is no threat to the community." No further information was provided about the motive for the shooting or the identifies of either the suspect or the dead man.

A couple of hours later SLC Deputies responded to another shooting that occurred at 9:15 pm Saturday, July 9, near North 45th Street and Juanita Avenue close to the Miracle Revival Outreach Center. There they found a wounded 17-year-old teen inside a silver Infinity G35x.
Another short post on the SLC Sheriff Facebook page states that the teen was able to tell the responding Deputy that he'd been shot. The post however does not identify the youth or say where, or how many times he'd been shot. The teen was taken to the hospital where he was in critical condition Saturday night.
