U.S. News & World Report Ranks Port St. Lucie the #2 Safest Metro Area in the U.S

Eight of the top ten safest metro areas are in Florida, according to U.S. News & World Report.

Port St. Lucie - Wednesday July 13, 2022: U.S. News and World Report has ranked Port St. Lucie the #2 safest metro area in the U.S. for 2022-23.

Naples Florida is ranked the #1 safest place to live, and Fort Meyers is ranked #3, after Port St. Lucie. In fact nine of the top twelve safest metro areas are in Florida, according to U.S. News & World Report.

The rankings are based on the murder and property crime rates per 100,000 people, as determined by the FBI crime reports.

U.S. News & World Report Top 12 safest metro areas in the U.S. are:

1. Naples Florida

2. Port St. Lucie Florida

3. Fort Meyers Florida

4. Portland Maine

5. Lakeland Florida

6. Tampa Florida

7. Sarasota Florida

8. Worcester Massachusetts

9. Daytona Beach Florida

10. Ocala Florida

11. Melbourne Florida

12. Manchester New Hampshire
