72 Year Old Pedestrian Killed After Being Struck by Vehicle in Port St. Lucie
Port St. Lucie - Thursday August 4, 2022: A 72-year-old pedestrian was killed Wednesday evening after being struck from behind by a vehicle in Port St. Lucie.
The crash occurred along the 23000 block of Charleston Drive. Port St. Lucie police responded at 7:15 pm.
Police say that a Kia Sorrento was traveling south on SE Charleston Drive. The pedestrian was walking along the road in the same direction. The pedestrian then turned to cross the road and was struck from behind by the vehicle.
The pedestrian was transported by air rescue to the hospital and later succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the vehicle was not injured.
The crash remains under investigation.
