NHC 2PM Monday: A Topical Depression Could Form by the Middle to Latter Part of This Week; But Environmental Conditions Become Less Favorable by This Weekend

A tropical depression could form by the middle to latter portion of this week before environmental conditions become less favorable by this weekend.

Florida - Monday April 8, 2022: A large area of showers and thunderstorms over the far eastern tropical Atlantic south of the Cabo Verde islands is associated with a tropical wave.

This system changed little in organization Monday, but environmental conditions appear conducive for gradual development over the next several days while it moves westward to
west-northwestward at 15 to 20 mph across the eastern and central tropical Atlantic.

This tropical wave has its axis along 21W, south of 20N. Scattered moderate to isolated strong convection is observed from 08N to 15N and between 18W and 30W.

A tropical depression could form by the middle to latter portion of this week before environmental conditions become less favorable by this weekend.
