Tropical Wave on the Way

A tropical depression could form around the middle to latter part of this week.

Florida - Monday August 8, 2022: A far eastern Atlantic tropical wave is generating a large area of disorganized showers and thunderstorms.

Environmental conditions appear generally conducive for gradual development of this system, according to the National Hurricane Center 8:05 am Monday August 8 update.

The system is moving west-northwestward at 15 to 20 mph across the eastern and central tropical Atlantic. It has a 40% chance of becoming a tropical depression by the middle to latter part of this week.

* Formation chance through 48 hours is low: 10 percent.
* Formation chance through 5 days is medium: 40 percent.
