Port St. Lucie - August 23, 2022: The Port St. Lucie Solid Waste Division is hosting an Open House to answer questions about the City's new solid waste hauler, FCC Environmental Services Florida (FCC).

It will take place Monday, Aug. 29 from 6-8 pm at the Port St. Lucie Community Center located at 2195 SE Airoso Blvd. in Port St. Lucie.

This is the second such Open House the City has held. City staff and representatives from FCC will be there to answer questions about the new collection schedule and offer tips to residents and businesses about the new automated service, and the transition from manual to automated garbage collection. Information about the new collection schedule, garbage cart delivery, resuming recycling, disposal of yard and bulk waste will also be provided.

One of FCC’s new automated side-loader trucks will be on hand for inspection. These trucks are equipped with cameras, telematics, onboard diagnostics and automated arms, to make waste collection safer and more efficient.

The new service with FCC will begin the week of Sept. 5, and it will restore consistent and reliable collection services for Port St. Lucie residents. It will bring a simplified schedule. Garbage, recycling and yard waste will be collected once a week on the same designated day. Bulk waste will be collected once a month on the same designated day. FCC’s new collection schedule is available online at: www.CityofPSL.com/SolidWaste.
