Governor Appoints 16 to Various State College Boards

Tallahassee - Monday September 12, 2022: Governor Ron DeSantis has appointed 16 people to various State college boards.

Three appointed to the Daytona State College District Board of Trustees

Kelly Kwiatek - Kwiatek is the Senior Vice President and General Counsel at Halifax Staffing Inc. She currently serves on the Seventh Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission, as Chair of the Daytona Regional Chamber of Commerce and as a member of the Halifax Area Civic League. Kwiatek earned her bachelor’s degree from Syracuse University and juris doctor from Florida State University.

Garry Lubi - Lubi is the Senior Vice President of Commercial Banking at SouthState and CenterState Bank. He serves on the Palm Coast Regional Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. Lubi previously served as Senior Vice President of Commercial Banking with Ameris Bank and as President of the Flagler County Education Foundation Board of Directors. Lubi earned his bachelor’s degree in business management from Canisius College.

Randall Howard, PhD - Howard is the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. He is a veteran of the United States Air Force after serving for twenty years. He previously served as Vice President of Business Affairs and Treasurer of Ball State University. Howard earned his bachelor’s degree in mathematics and chemistry from Birmingham Southern College, his master’s degree in operations research from the Air Force Institute of Technology and his doctorate in finance from the University of Georgia.

Three Appointed to the Seminole State College District Board of Trustees

John Good - Good is Vice President of Good Capital Group. He was previously an Analyst for Independent Financial and Jones Lang LaSalle. Good earned his bachelor’s degree in economics with a minor in philosophy and history from the University of Georgia.

Amy Lockhart - Lockhart was elected to serve on the Seminole County Board of County Commissioners. She is a member and local Treasurer of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution and an executive committee member of the East Central Florida Regional Planning Council. Lockhart was previously elected to and served on the Seminole County School Board. Lockhart attended Florida Atlantic University.

Shawn Molsberger - Molsberger is the Senior Vice President of Orlando Health and President of Orlando Health South Seminole Hospital. He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and a board member of the Heart of Florida United Way. Molsberger earned his bachelor's degree in occupational therapy from Utica College of Syracuse University and his master’s degree in business and healthcare administration from Belmont University.

Four Appointed to the Pensacola State College District Board of Trustees

Gabriel Bullaro - Bullaro is Chief Executive Officer of HCA Florida West Hospital. Previously, he was Chief Executive Officer of HCA Florida West Marion Hospital. Bullaro is a veteran of the United States Navy and has been a member of the American College of Hospital Executives. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Boston University and his master’s degree in business administration from Duke University.

Julie Sheppard - Sheppard is the Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Counsel for the Florida Institute for Human & Machine Cognition. She is a member of the Sacred Heart Advisory Counsel and a member and Past President of the Impact 100 Pensacola Bay. Sheppard earned her bachelor's degree in English and psychology from the University of Virginia and juris doctor from Suffolk University.

Gordon Sprague - Sprague is a retired Senior Vice President Regional Wholesaler for AIM, a Houston, Texas-based , Mutual Fund Money Management Firm. He is a veteran of the United States Air Force and served as President of Florida Recreation & Parks Association. Sprague earned his bachelor's degree from Florida State University, his master's degree from the University of North Florida and his honorary doctorate from Vermont Technical College.

Kevin Lacz - Lacz is a Physician’s Assistant with Regenesis and a former Navy SEAL who served two tours of duty in Iraq, where his actions earned him a Bronze Star Medal with a Combat V, two Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medals and two Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals. He and his wife started Hunting for Healing and he has written and released two books. Lacz earned his bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Connecticut and his master’s degree in medical science from Wake Forest University.

Four Appointed to the State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota District Board of Trustees

Jaymie Carter - Carter is a Realtor with Michael Saunders & Company. She currently serves on the Women’s Resource Center of Manatee Board of Directors and the Liberty Foundation of Manatee. Carter attended State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota.

Tracy Knight - Knight is the Vice President and Owner of Knight Strategic Communications. She is a member of the Venice Chamber of Commerce and the Economic Development Corporation of Sarasota County. Knight attended the University of Florida and earned her bachelor's degree from Florida State University.

Ryan Moore - Moore is the Owner of Prodigy Inc. and PEOProdigy Inc. He previously served on the Board of Employee Leasing Companies. Moore attended the State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota and earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Central Florida.

Rodney Thomson - Thomson is the Owner of the Thomson Group, a communications and public relations company. He has over 25 years of experience in journalism as a reporter, columnist, executive director, and has published two books. Thomson earned his bachelor's degree from Michigan State University.

Two Appointed to the Eastern Florida State College District Board of Trustees

Robert “Bruce” Deardoff - Deardoff, of Cocoa Beach, is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Deardoff Automotive Group. He is a current member of the Civilian Military Foundation of Brevard, the Propeller Club of Port Canaveral, and previously served seven years as a Commissioner on the Canaveral Port Authority. Deardoff earned his bachelor’s degree in marketing from Fordham University.

Dr. Edgar Figueroa - Dr. Figueroa, of Melbourne, is a Physician and Surgeon at Steward Health Care. Previously, he was a Trauma Surgeon at Health First Holmes Regional Medical Center. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and was previously Medical Staff President at Holmes Regional Medical Center. Dr. Figueroa is a graduate of the University of Puerto Rico, Humacao College and earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Central del Este.
