Vero Beach Police Arrest Suspected Drug Dealer

The search of Bendo’s belongings turned up: 52.2 grams of fentanyl, 1.4 grams of methamphetamine, approximately 35 various pills, some unidentified, 2 meth pipes, and a digital scale

Vero Beach - Wednesday September 21, 2022: Vero Beach police have arrested 28 Tyler Joseph Bendo one multiple drug charges.

The arrest was made about 10 pm last Friday night, September 16. According to a news release from the Vero Beach Police Department, Officers made a routine traffic stop of a vehicle after it failed to come to a complete stop at a stop sign.

While speaking with the occupants of the vehicle, the Officers saw a rear passenger reach into a black bag numerous times and observed what appeared to be narcotics inside the bag.

The rear passenger was identified as Tyler Bendo, who was on probation for previous drug charges. Attached to Bendo’s probation was a condition that required him to submit to a law enforcement search.

The search of Bendo’s belongings turned up:

- 52.2 grams of Fentanyl
- 1.4 grams of Methamphetamine
- Approximately 35 various Pills (some unidentified)
- 2 “Meth Pipes”
- Digital Scale

Bendo was taken into custody without incident and charged with:

- Trafficking in Controlled Substance (Fentanyl)
- 2 counts-Possession of Controlled Substance without a Prescription
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

This is an ongoing investigation. Additional charges may be filed pending lab results on the unidentified pills.

Bendo remains incarcerated at the Indian River County Jail on a $171,000.00 bond.
