NWS: Tornado Watch Issued for the Treasure Coast
Treasure Coast - Tuesday September 27, 2022: The National Weather Service in Melbourne issued a Tornado Watch for the Treasure Coast at 4:47 PM Tuesday afternoon.
The Tornado Watch remains in effect until 5 AM Wednesday morning.
The Tornado Watch includes the following 4 counties in east central Florida:
Martin County ... Indian River County ... St. Lucie County .. and Okeechobee County.
NWS: A Tornado Watch means be prepared, tornadoes are possible in and near the watch area. Review and discuss your emergency plans and check supplies and your safe room. Be ready to act quickly if a warning is issued or you suspect a tornado is approaching.
The watch area is typically large, covering numerous counties or even states.
