President Biden and the First Lady traveled to Florida Wednesday to reaffirm the Administration’s commitment to supporting the people of Florida as they rebuild.

Florida - Thursday October 6, 2022: President Biden and his wife Jill were in the Fort Myers area Wednesday, visiting areas destroyed by Hurricane Ian and telling residents and business owners who suffered damage from the storm that the federal government would help them recover.

"We're not leaving. We're not leaving until this gets done. I promise you that," said the President.

He was accompanied by FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell who said the President authorized an extension of the time period for 100% federal funding from 30 to 90 days from the start of the incident period on September 29.

The extension will continue to cover all levels of federal funding for eligible costs including, debris removal, emergency protective measures, and direct federal assistance.
