
Port St. Lucie - Wednesday August 19, 2022: Assistant Chief Del Toro, Police Administrator Bill May, and retired Volunteer Coordinator Tom Andrew were honored to accept the Leadership in Volunteer Police Programs Award.
“This award is a true representation of the commitment, dedication, and courage of all our volunteers," said Chief Bolduc. "The Volunteer Program contributed over 4,000 hours of service to the department during 2021, when still faced with challenges from Covid-19. We appreciate our volunteers and thank them for truly making a difference every day.”
The Port St. Lucie Police Department was recognized for its 165 volunteers who assist the department in many functions including serving as couriers, helping with parking enforcement, patrolling the community, assisting with speed trailer deployments, becoming 'close house watchers', taking part in Project Lifesaver, joining the volunteer response team, and taking part in special events,
The award ceremony took place at the IACP Annual Awards Banquet in Dallas, Texas on Tuesday night.
