USACE: Vegetation Buoy Line Blocking Rim Canal in Moore Haven
Moore Haven - Wednesday October 19, 2022: The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is advising commercial and recreational vessels that they have placed a Floating Buoy Line at the rim canal north of the Julian Keen, Jr. Lock at S-281 which is currently obstructing navigation through the rim canal.
The Floating Buoy Line has been put there to prevent floating vegetation from impeding navigation within the Okeechobee Waterway.
The Buoy Line will remain in place until the floating vegetation is cleared. When that occurs the Buoy Line will be removed, and the rim canal will reopen to navigation.
