Port St. Lucie Woman Claims $1-Million Prize in Scratch-Off Game

Port St. Lucie - Thursday October 27, 2022: The Florida Lottery has announced that 48 year old  Wendy Banuelos of Port St. Lucie has claimed a $1 million prize after playing the 500X THE CASH  Scratch-Off game .

She chose to receive her winnings at Lottery Headquarters in Tallahassee as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $820,000.00.   

Banuelos purchased her winning ticket from BP Food Store, located at 8195 20th Street in Vero Beach. The retailer will receive a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the winning Scratch-Off ticket.  

The $50 game, 500X THE CASH, features a top prize of $25 million, which is the largest ever offered on a Florida Scratch-Off game. The game’s overall odds of winning are 1-in-4.5, which the Florida Lotto says are the best odds out of all its games for wining a million.   

Scratch-Off games comprise approximately 77 percent of ticket sales and generating more than $1.8 billion for the Educational Enhancement Trust Fund (EETF) in fiscal year 2021-22.
