FHSAA

Martin County - Tuesday November 2, 2022: Over 6,000 athletes, spectators, coaches and officials from all over Florida will come to the Sailfish Splash Waterpark’s Aquatic Center over the next two weekends, November 4 – 5 and 11 – 12, for the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) Swimming and Diving Finals.

The FHSAA has chosen Sailfish Splash Waterpark as the host location for this prestigious event for the 10th consecutive year, where athletes from all over Florida come not only to win a gold medal, but also to break state and national records.

Todd Foust, Martin County Parks Administrator, noted “This event attracts the best high school swimmers from all over the state. Over the nine years we have hosted these competitions, two national records were broken by Caleb Dressel and 28 state records have been broken.” The events not only provide exciting entertainment, but they also have a significant positive impact on the county's economy, generating nearly $20MM over the last nine years from visitors staying in hotels, dining out, gassing up, shopping and enjoying all that Martin County has to offer.

In collaboration with the local host school, South Fork High School, the Martin County Parks and Recreation department will provide operational management and coordination, with support from Play Treasure Coast Sports Tourism. Local restaurants including Carrabba’s Italian Grill, Chick-fil-a, Fresh Market, Olympic Taverna and Zaxby’s are also supporting this event through hospitality sponsorships.

"We are honored and thrilled to welcome FHSAA back to Martin County for the 10th consecutive year. We have a winning formula that attracts sports tourism thanks to wonderful employees who provide outstanding customer service, fantastic partners and sponsors and championship-caliber facilities located in Martin County's convenient, affordable, laid-back atmosphere.” Kevin Abbate, Parks and Recreation Director, stated.
