Wikipedia

Port St. Lucie - Wednesday November 16, 2022: The Port St. Lucie Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division has arrested four people on allegations that they stole 19 French bulldogs.

On November 4th PSL Criminal Investigations (CID) Detectives and the PSL police SWAT Team executed a search warrant at a home in the city. There they recovered five of the stolen French bulldog puppies. A 6th stolen French bulldog was sold by the suspects to a person in Indiantown and it too was recovered. The 6 recovered bulldogs have been reunited with their owners.

Arrested at the PSL residence were 19-year-old Laurence Mitchell and 18-year-old Destiny Delcampo. Mitchell and Delcampo have been charged with grand theft and dealing in stolen property.

Mitchell was also charged with robbery by sudden snatching for an unrelated incident after Detectives identified him as the suspect who grabbed a 77-year-old woman’s purse and pushed her to the ground on August 17th in the Saint Lucie West Publix parking lot.

Two additional suspects involved in the French bulldog incident were identified after Detectives, along with the Stuart Police Department, executed another search warrant at a home in Stuart. There they arrested 18-year-old Jordan Brown and 20-year-old Cinthia Galarza.

Brown is currently housed at the Martin County Jail and will be facing charges of burglary, grand theft, dealing in stolen property, and tampering with evidence. Galarza is wanted and has an active arrest warrant for accessory after the fact.

There are 13 remaining stolen French bulldogs still at large and the investigation is continuing.
