Indian River County - Monday December 5, 2022: Indian River County Sheriff Deputies apprehended an escaped prisoner over the weekend.
Edward Saucier was recently sentenced to two years in state prison for committing numerous burglaries in Indian River County. He was serving time at the Florida Department of Corrections prison in Kissimmee from where he escaped after cutting his ankle last Thursday December 1.
The Sheriff’s Office received information that Saucier was back in Indian River County, possibly hiding out in the 6400 block of 48th Avenue.
The IRC Street Crimes Unit, the K-9 team, the IRC helicopter, and numerous patrol units responded to the area where they found him hiding in a wooded area.
Saucier was arrested and transported to the IRC County Jail.
