Okeechobee County - Tuesday December 6, 2022: Members of the Okeechobee Narcotics Task Force arrested 42 year old Leamsi Alvarado last Friday on drug charges.
He is accused of of possession and sale of cocaine with intent to sell to an undercover narcotics investigator.
Following his arrest, the Okeechobee County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team, and task force members, executed a probable cause search warrant at Alvarado's home at 3211 SE 34th Ave., known locally as the Treasure Island area of Okeechobee.
During the search, investigators found approximately 238 grams of suspected Cocaine, about 700 grams of Marijuana, roughly 2 grams of MDMA, also known as Ecstasy, and a number of oxycodone pills. Two handguns, drug paraphernalia, and cash amounting close to $12,000 was also seized.
Alvarado is a convicted felon and the additional items found during the search of his found have led to additional charges of, Trafficking Cocaine, Possessing a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, and Marijuana Over 20 grams.
Alvarado was transported to the Okeechobee County Detention Facility without incident, where he is currently being held.
