The City of Fort Pierce Opens Four New Pickleball Courts at Jaycee Park

City of Fort Pierce

Fort Pierce - Wednesday December 28, 2022: The City of Fort Pierce's Public Works Department has announced the opening of four new pickleball courts at Jaycee Park.

Over the last few years, pickleball has grown in popularity, not just in Fort Pierce, but across the country. In 2021 the number of pickleball players in the U.S. soared to 4.8 million, according to the Sports and Fitness Industry Association.

The Fort Pierce Facilities Public Works Maintenance Crew of Public Works re-designed an existing tennis court and turned them into new pickleball courts. Residents and visitors have already taken to the courts since they were completed two weeks ago.

The new pickleball courts are available at no charge on a first-come, first-served basis during regular park hours. The City encourages pickleball players to learn more about the health benefits of pickleball and make use of the new courts.
