Port St. Lucie - Friday January 6, 2023: Port St. Lucie Police are investigating an early morning crash that left a pedestrian in critical condition.
The crash occurred around 5 a.m. at Southeast Jennings Road and South Highway U.S. #1.
According to a release from PSLPD, a pedestrian crossing the roadway was struck by a vehicle traveling south on U.S. #1. A second vehicle then rear ended the first vehicle.
The pedestrian was transported to the hospital in critical condition. The other motorists were not injured.
Southbound U.S. #1 at Jennings was shut down for approximately two hours. Traffic was diverted through Towne Center.
The investigation is ongoing at this time.
