Okeechobee Narcotics Task Force Arrests 4 Suspects on Drug Charges

Okeechobee County - Thursday February 2, 2023: Okeechobee Narcotics Task Force arrested 4 men Wednesday on charges of trying to sell fentanyl.

According to a release from the Sheriff's Office Task Force members targeting a suspected fentanyl dealer suspected of selling the deadly narcotic in Okeechobee county.

They carried out an undercover narcotics operation during which the suspected dealer agreed to meet an undercover agent and sell $1000 worth of Fentanyl at a local fast-food restaurant. The suspect said he'd be coming up from Palm Beach County, he was accompanied by three others.

Upon arriving at the fast food store, one of the suspects, 19-year-old Jamiere Murray, removed a plastic sandwich bag containing numerous suspected Fentanyl capsules from his buttocks. The other three suspects were identified as 20-year-old Clayton Adams, 20-year-old Andre Douglas, and 20-year-old Christopher Murray.

The suspected Fentanyl capsules weighed approximately 8.1 grams (44 capsules) which field tested positive for Fentanyl.

All four young men were then taken into custody on a charge of Conspiracy to sell Fentanyl.

Adams and Douglas advised they both were on probation, and Christopher advised he was out of jail on bond for a pending robbery charge out of Miami.

Adam's vehicle was towed to the Okeechobee County Sheriff's Office impound lot, where it will be stored and is pending seizure procedures.
