Okeechobee County - Thursday February 23, 2023: The Florida Cracker Trail will be making its way through Okeechobee County Thursday and Friday, February 23, and February 24.
The areas affected on Thursday will be Highway 98 N and Highway 700A. On Friday, the areas will be Highway 98 N , Highway 68 W, Highway 441 N, and Highway 68 E.
The Cracker Trail takes place the last full week of February each year. Beginning in Bradenton, FL and Making its way across the State and ending in Fort t. Pierce, with a parade through downtown. The trail is approximately 120 miles long, and each days ride is approximately 15 to 20 miles in length. The purpose of the Cracker Trail ride is to draw attention to Florida's horse and cattle heritage.
The Cracker Trail will be escorted by Deputies while in Okeechobee County. The Sheriff's office is advising motorists to use caution, be patient, and be respectful when you encounter the trail.
