Fort Pierce Based Non-Profit Gets a Generous Gift from an Unlikely Sponsor

Stabilize Revitalize Fort Pierce

Fort Pierce - Tuesday February 28: Florida based non-profit 'Stabilize Revitalize Fort Pierce' recently received a generous gift from an unlikely sponsor.

In the wake of Hurricane Ian last year, the non-profit set up a base camp over on the west coast in Fort Myers, one of the areas hit hardest by the storm. They recruited volunteers to help in the recovery effort, and brought over relief supplies from the east coast, mainly donations made by Fort Pierce residents

Stabilize Revitalize Fort Pierce also put out a call to equipment suppliers asking for their help with downed trees. That social media post caught the attention of a company all the way up in Tonawanda New York called Norwood. Norwood agreed to donate $10,000 worth of equipment in the form of a Frontier OS31 Sawmill.

Stabilize Revitalize Fort Pierce received that donation at the end of 2022. As a result, they have set up a mill at the St. Lucie farm preserve in St. Lucie County. Steps are now underway to create a sawyer program based in St. Lucie County with the help of the St. Lucie Farm Preserve, one of Stabilize Revitalize Fort Pierce's major sponsors.

For over 2 years now. Stabilize Revitalize Fort Pierce has organized community cleanups in the city's neighborhoods, along the inland waterway, beach cleanups and youth outreach events such as the Zora Youth Crew Project.
